Phil Tugwell Celebrating 25 Years
As MCP celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, we are also proud to mark a very special personal milestone. On 1 March, Phil Tugwell celebrates 25 years with the business.
Phil is one of our longest-serving members of the team. His career with MCP reflects not only longevity, but depth, breadth and an enduring commitment to improving manufacturing and maintenance performance across the world.
From Manufacturing Leader to Trusted Consultant
Phil joined MCP on 1 March 2001, following 15 years in senior manufacturing management roles across brewing, household detergents and automotive airbags.
His very first assignment began just four days later, on Monday 5 March, leading a 40-day manufacturing improvement programme at Sealy Beds in Aspatria, Cumbria. That 40 days turned into more than 150 - an early sign of the long-term impact he would go on to make with clients.
He initially joined as a consultant, later becoming Associate Director and Head of Manufacturing, and served on the Board between 2014 and 2017. After a short period away, he returned in January 2021 as an Associate, bringing with him the same energy and professionalism that defined his early years with the company.
