Optimising MAINTENANCE STRATEGY for a Major UK Port Operator

The Customer

As one of the United Kingdom’s busiest and most strategically important port operators, this organisation manages complex infrastructure and equipment critical to the seamless flow of trade and logistics. With operations running 24/7, asset reliability and efficient maintenance planning are vital to minimising disruption, ensuring safety and maintaining compliance across all port activities.

The Challenge

Faced with the evolving demands of operational efficiency and regulatory compliance, the port operator recognised the need to improve its maintenance strategy. The existing asset management framework, while functional, had grown inconsistent over time, leading to potential inefficiencies, increased maintenance workloads and missed opportunities for cost reduction. There was a clear need to critically reassess the value delivered by current maintenance routines, particularly as the port's asset base continued to grow in complexity and scale.
